International Guitar Night

Queens Theatre in the Park

Friday, January 22

International Guitar Night will be held at Queens Theatre in the Park, located in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, at 8 p.m. on Friday, January 22.

The event will feature International Guitar Night founder Brian Gore, along with Lulo Reinhardt, Itmar Erez and Stephen Bennett.

Tickets are $37 or $35 for seniors and $20 for students.

History Roundtable

Greater Astoria Historical Society

Saturday, January 23

The Greater Astoria Historical Society, located at 35-20 Broadway, fourth floor, will hold a history roundtable entitled “The Civil Rights Movement” at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 23.

The event will include showing film footage and a group discussion. It is being held to commemorate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

‘The Life of Jose Marti’

Queens Museum of Art

Sunday, January 24

The Queens Museum of Art, located in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, will present “The Life of Jose Marti” from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, January 24.

The Cuba Civic Club is holding the event to celebrate Marti, who is described as a “Cuban national hero and important figure in Latin American Literature.” Marti was a poet, essayist, journalist, philosopher, translator, professor, publisher and political theorist.

‘Chasing Ghosts in Queens’

Hillcrest Library

Monday, January 25

“Chasing Ghosts in Queens” will be held at Hillcrest Library, located at 187-05 Union Turnpike in Flushing, at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, January 25.

The program will be led by Joseph Flammer and Dianne Hill, who are known as The Paranormal Adventurers. They will discuss “some of Queens’ and Long Island’s most famous graveyard ghosts.”
