Forecasters have poor winter track record

What is going on with this weather? Last week we had from 13 inches to 26 inches of snow and this past weekend, in one night, most of it was all washed away by a storm with temperatures into the 50s.

Those mild temperatures were never predicted by our illustrious forecasters, as usual. They could not even get that prediction correct. Why can’t it just turn cold and stay cold for the entire winter? Winter is supposed to be cold and snowy, but for the last three years, up until this past month, we have had little snow or cold weather to speak of.

Where is this December to remember, as one of those over-hyped forecasters from AccuWeather predicted? This December has not been all that cold and Central Park only had a snowfall of 10.9 inches. Weather forecasters love to hype winter storms and then nothing happens.

I am fed up with this kind of irresponsible sensationalism our forecasters love to exhibit. One of these days we are going to be buried by a blizzard that even these so-called experts will not have predicted.

Stick to two-day forecasts, folks. Anything beyond that is never correct.
