Man killed by bus

A man was fatally struck by a school bus as it was turning a corner on Friday, April 9.
According to reports, Permaul Tulkanam, 59, was hit at about 6:45 a.m. as the driver for the Victory Bus Co. made a right turn onto Liberty Avenue from Lefferts Boulevard in Ozone Park. Tulkanam was pronounced dead at Jamaica Hospital; the driver was not cited and the child aboard was reportedly not injured.
