Borough President Helen Marshall visited M.S. 294, Bell Academy recently, to present the school with a $35,000 grant to purchase state-of-the-art technology equipment, including smart boards and videoconferencing cameras.
During her Thursday, May 15 visit to the school, located at 18-25 212th Street in Bayside, she participated in a videoconference with a class at the Cleveland Institute of Music.
The conference of classes enjoyed learning about Queens poet Langston Hughes’ work, after which, Marshall (right) presented the ceremonial check to the school’s principal, Cheryl Quatrano-Hatzidimitriou.
