Cops hunt rape suspects in Hamilton Beach

A woman waiting to be picked up from a house party was instead abducted off the street, taken to Gateway Park, assaulted and raped, according to police.

The incident happened at 5 a.m. on Saturday, June 26. The female victim told police that she was waiting for her cousin to pick her up from a house party in the vicinity of 106th Street and Rockaway Boulevard. She said she was approached by two males who forced her into a white van, drove to 165th Avenue and 104th Street and then dragged her into Gateway National Recreation Area in Hamilton Beach, where she was beaten and choked by both.

The woman said that the perps then removed her pants and they both had intercourse with her. She was taken by EMS to Queens General Hospital where she was treated for cuts and bruises and non-life threatening injuries.

Repeated calls to Gateway Park spokespersons went unanswered as of press time.

The investigation is ongoing, and there is no further information available at this time.
