Festival for Ave Maria Catholic Academy

The Ave Maria Catholic Academy hosted its Family Festival – with food, entertainment, rides and games, even a dunk tank – from Wednesday, August 4 through Sunday, August 8. It benefitted the children of the academy.

“The festival was good, every night has been packed,” said Doreen De Candia, who is in charge of the fundraising committee for Ave Maria. “Every year we do well.”

On Saturday, August 7, the festival opened early for the children and parents of New York Families for Autistic Children (NYFAC).

“This is to reward the kids and give them some special time with their families,” said De Candia, who thanked her fellow committee members John De Niro and Nick Petraglia.

With Vincent Cuomo and Andrew Baumann, president and founder of NYFAC in the dunk tank, Carl Curiale prepared all the delicious food.
