Police search for suspect in robbery at station

KEW GARDENS — The city Police Department was seeking assistance in identifying the whereabouts and name of a suspect connected with a robbery at the Kew Gardens-Union Turnpike E and F train station.

On July 21 at approximately 8:30 p.m., a 40- to 50-year-old black male — described as about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds — approached a 42-year-old Hispanic male in the men’s room of the Union Turnpike station, placed a knife to the man’s neck and demanded money, police said.

The victim handed his property over to the suspect, police said. The suspect then ran out of the station, police said.
