Queens Village, Cambria Heights, Laurelton, Rosedale, Springfield Gardens, Bellerose, Glen Oaks, New Hyde Park and Floral Park
On Sunday, August 29, police responded to a 9-1-1 call of shots fired at 145th Avenue and Francis Lewis Boulevard. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Mazile Helios, 26, with a gunshot wound to the torso. EMS responded and took the victim to Jamaica Hospital where he was pronounced dead. There are no arrests at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
