A Brooklyn man already serving jail time was sentenced to another 50 years in prison last week after being found guilty of killing an escort driver at a Forest Hills motel, the Queens district attorney’s office said.
Wayne Salton, 38, was convicted of murder, robbery and weapons charges in the 2004 killing of Casaba Daroczi, 37, of Astoria, in a room at the Boulevard Motor Inn in Forest Hills, the DA said. Queens Supreme Court Justice Gregory Lasak sentenced Salton Oct. 6 to a 50-year prison term.
Salton is currently serving a different 50-year term for a series of crimes he committed in Brooklyn in 2006, including rape, according to the DA.
Daroczi, who police said was an escort driver, was found dead with a gunshot wound to the torso Dec. 8, 2004, inside Room 7 of the Boulevard Motor Inn at 76-02 Queens Blvd., according to police.
“It’s a pimp and ho motel,” an IS 5 teacher told TimesLedger Newspapers at the time of the shooting. “It’s disgusting. It shouldn’t be down the block from a school.”
Before Daroczi was shot, police said he and Salton argued inside the hotel, which offers short-stay and daily rates. Police said the driver dropped off a girl at about 9 a.m. and picked her up around 12 p.m., at which time the two men got into an argument and the shooting occurred.
