Now that there is a budget in place, the next question is will there still be a need to lay off nearly 6,000 New York City public school teachers?
It is totally incomprehensible that any teacher must be laid off. Why is education always one of the main areas that is always targeted for budget cuts? Our children deserve the best education taught by the best teachers.
Ninety-nine percent of the teachers in the city public school system are dedicated, professional, hardworking and caring. They work hard to help every student realize their full potential in the classroom.
Do not lay off any teachers — it will only cause more stress and difficulty for the school system.
