Man offered bribe to cops in East Elmhurst: Brown

EAST ELMHURST — A man who tried to bribe a police officer from the back of a cruiser parked on 98th Street did not get the outcome he desired March 30, according to the Queens district attorney, because he was charged with bribery.

Nestor Rodriguez, 17, of 612 Ocean Ave. in Brooklyn, was in the back of a police car at around 12:30 p.m. when he allegedly said to an officer, “If you let me go, I’ll give you $10,000,” the DA said.

Cops took Rodriguez to the 102nd Precinct at around 3:15 p.m. and asked the teenager to repeat his offer.

Rodriguez allegedly said, “This is it. The money might be a little tight but I can get you some electronics, four watches valued $2,300, two Sony televisions fully equipped and I will give you $1,000,” the DA said.
