A former NYPD officer who downloaded child pornography involving children as young as 3 years old was sentenced last Thursday, the Queens district attorney said.
Matthew Fanning, 48, of South Ozone Park, was sentenced to up to 10 years in prison for promoting the sexual performance by a child.
Fanning pleaded guilty last month to downloading two videos from an online file sharing site called Limewire that featured minors engaging in sexual activity with adults.
The first video, which Fanning downloaded to his home computer Oct. 4, 2006, showed a 3-year-old girl engaged in a sexual act with an adult male.
Fanning downloaded the second video May 15, 2007. It featured a 10-year-old girl engaging in sexual acts with an adult male.
NYPD arrested Fanning in February 2008.
During Fanning’s sentencing, prosecutors read a statement from a girl who was the subject of a pornographic movie when she was a child.
