Separation of Church & State

Churches have been pressuring their members to contact my State Senator Addabbo to vote NO on marriage equality legislation.

It is a disgrace that separation of church and state guaranteed in our constitution does not occur to voters or to clergy. How would they feel if politicians and lobbyists campaigned to interfere in their services and told them what they could preach?

If these same people would okay "Civil Unions" with all rights and privileges, as married couples have, would my senator propose such an alternate law? Let each congregation and its clergy decide whom to marry in this state and let it stand.
