A new traffic pattern begins Saturday on the southbound side of the Whitestone Bridge.
Signs will be in place informing drivers of a “slight shift” in the Queens-bound lanes, which will now include two lanes to the far right and the reversible lane to the far left, separated by a work zone near the center lane, according to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
One of the three Queens-bound lanes from the Bronx will be closed 24 hours a day through fall, the MTA said.
Three lanes will head into the Bronx, and two into Queens, from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on weekends there will be three Queens-bound lanes and two Bronx-bound ones, the MTA said. A moveable barrier will allow workers to shift the lanes according to this schedule.
