George Russo was born at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage Alaska to his mom Francis and dad Frank, while his dad was serving in the United State Armed Forces.
He was raised in the Ozone Park section of Queens, attending Nativity B.V.M. grammar school and then Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at St. John’s University in 1979 and went on to attend New York Law School. George received his Juris Doctor degree from New York Law School in 1982 and was admitted to the New York State Bar as a licensed attorney in 1983.
His legal apprenticeship began at the Queens District Attorney’s Office where he served as an Assistant District Attorney until 1986. Upon completing his tenure as a prosecutor Mr. Russo began the private practice of law which he continues today at the law firm of George Russo and Associates, P.C. where his firm specializes in the areas of Real Estate Transactions, Foreclosure Defense, Consumer Law and Immigration matters.
Over the years George Russo has also been very active in community affairs serving on both civic and philanthropic organizations. He has served on the District 27 Community School Board, Community Planning Boards 9 & 10, the Intra-Community Civic Association, Angels on the Bay Children’s Charity and the South Queens Boys and Girls Club, to name a few.
He also is the proprietor of the Villa Russo Catering Hall in Richmond Hill, Queens as a second generation owner/operator of an establishment began in 1954 by his Father and Uncle.
He is married to his wife Antha and has five children: George, Paul, Arianna, Nicolette and Giovana.
