There were plenty of trophies to go around for the students of local parochial schools who participated in the Kiwanis Club of Glendale’s annual Peewee Basketball Tournament, held in conjunction with St. Pancras School’s CYO Program last Saturday afternoon, Jan. 14, at the Glendale school’s gymnasium. As shown in the top photo at left, the girls’ championship game featured a battle between St. Adalbert’s School of Elmhurst and St. Stanislaus School in Maspeth; the girls of St. Adalbert’s prevailed in that contest by a 21-6 score. The boys’ final pitted St. Margaret School of Middle Village against Our Lady of Grace School in Howard Beach. Both teams are shown in the middle photo at left.
