Sought For Series Of Bklyn. Robberies

Two men and two women are wanted by police in connection with a series of holdups on streets in Bushwick and other parts of Brooklyn over the last four months, it was reported.

Law enforcement sources said the foursome consists of an African- American man between 30 and 35 years of age, a Hispanic man between 20 and 25 years of age, an African- American woman in her early to mid 20s with a light complexion and an African-American woman with a dark complexion.

In each of the incidents, authorities said, one or several of the suspects approached victims on the streets and asked for directions. While the victims were distracted, police noted, the suspect(s) removed property such as jewelry and cell phones, then fled in an unknown direction.

Police sources noted that one of the bandits displayed a firearm in two of the capers.

According to authorities, the first robbery in the pattern took place at around 2:40 p.m. on Nov. 30, 2011, when an unknown number of suspects removed a necklace from a 16- year-old male victim at the corner of Himrod Street and Knickerbocker Avenue in Bushwick.

Police said the second holdup occurred on Jan. 24 at around 12:15 p.m. at the corner of Varet Street and Graham Avenue in East Williamsburg. In that incident, it was reported, the African-American male bandit broke a necklace worn by a 72-yearold man and removed a charm that had been hanging from it.

Four days later, NYPD sources stated, the two male suspects robbed a 24-year-old man at gunpoint on Rockaway Parkway near East New York Avenue in Crown Heights at around 7:45 p.m. on the night of Jan. 28. Reportedly, the crooks took off with the victim’s jewelry, cash and other undisclosed property.

Law enforcement sources said the two men struck again in Cypress Hills the following day, as they robbed electronic devices from a 57-year-old man in front of a location on Fulton Street near Hendrix Street in Cypress Hills at around 5:50 p.m. on Jan. 29.

Finally, the African-American male bandit and one of the female suspects involved in the pattern came to Bushwick to rob a 21-year-old man at gunpoint near a location on Willoughby Avenue near Knickerbocker Avenue at around 6:10 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2. In that incident, authorities said, the perpetrators removed the victim’s cell phone.

Police noted that none of the victims were injured. The investigation is ongoing.
