Assemblywoman Catherine Nolan recently met with AFL-CIO President Mario Cilento at the State Capitol in Albany to discuss legislation to increase the minimum wage in New York State to $8.50 per hour beginning in January 2013. The bill also calls for indexing the wage rate to the rate of inflation beginning in January 2014. “With New York’s economy still struggling to regain footing after one of the worst recessions in American history, hard-working families need all the help they can get,” Nolan said.
