War Veterans Bury the Fallen

The Queens County American Legion provided funeral services and burial for two indigent veterans, Korean War veteran Albert J. Hunter and Vietnam War veteran Louis Lamar, as well as for Beverly Kidd, the wife of indigent World War II veteran Robert Kidd, who died on Aug. 14. Among those attending the Tuesday, Feb. 21 ceremony at the George Werst Funeral Home in Glendale were members of the American Legion’s Garity Post #562 and O’Connell Post #272, the Vietnam War Veterans of American Chapter 32, State Sen. Joseph Addabbo and Assemblyman Mike Miller (shown standing, fourth and fifth from right).
