ERNA KIKEL died on Monday, May 14, at the Brighton Gardens Home in Florham Park, N.J. at the age of 95. She was born in Yugoslavia and lived in Ridgewood, Queens and Flemington, N.J. for 43 years before moving to the Sunrise Center four years ago. She was a homemaker and former member of St. Magdalene R.C. Church in Flemington and later attended St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church in Flanders, N.J.

She was predeceased by her husband Albert in 2001 and is survived by her children Oscar and Betty Kikel of Ridgewood, Queens; Pauline and Bob Barth of Flanders; Alfred and Marianne Kikel of Ridgewood, Queens; and Fred and Julie Kikel of Glendale, as well as brother Bernhard Mausser of Ridgewood, Queens, nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Friday, May 18, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church, Flanders, followed by entombment at St. Magdalen R.C. Church Mausoleum, Flemington, N.J., under the direction of Davis and Heppelwhite Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Succasunna, N.J.

KARL MEDITZ died on Thursday, May 17, at Clipper Harbor Nursing Home in Portsmouth, N.H., at the age of 82 after a lengthy period of declining health. A former resident of Glendale, he was born on January 20, 1930, in Stockendorf, Gottschee, Yu- goslavia, the second son of Franz and Johanna (nee Schnedercic) Meditz.

After World War II, Karl and his family became displaced persons after being forced to leave their home because they were ethnic Austrian. They were able to come to the U.S. in 1951 with the help of family already settled in Brooklyn. Karl found work and eventually was employed as a machine maintenance mechanic in the dairy industry for 24 years. His last years in the business were spent at Tuscan Dairy in Maspeth.

Karl and his wife moved to Derry, N.H. in 1999. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, carpentry and general handyman jobs around the house and property.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Marie (nee Kraker) Meditz, children Peter and Linda Meditz of Brentwood, N.H.; Joseph and Carmen Meditz of Ridgewood; and William Meditz of Middle Village. He was the loving grandfather of Caitlyn and Daniel Meditz and dear brother of Henry Meditz, Sophie Eppich and Marie Gregoretti. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Frank, Josef and Fred.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today, Thursday, May 24, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Derry, N.H., followed by interment at Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry, N.H. The family extends its sincere appreciation to the Clipper Harbor Nursing Home and its staff.

ROGER P. MICHELI died on Saturday, May 19, at the age of 82. He was the beloved husband of Marie L. (nee Cestaro) Micheli, loving father of Lorren Micheli, Patricia and Angelo Caputo and James and Rachel Micheli, cherished grandfather of Lisa, Jenna, David, Stevie and Casie and dear brother of Gene Micheli. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Tuesday, May 19, at St. Luke’s Church, Whitestone, followed by interment at Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery, Flushing, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth.

MERCEDES CABALLERO died on Wednesday, May 16, at the age of 90. She was the wife of the late Nestor Caballero, loving mother of Catherine M. Rodd, mother-in-law of Donald, cherished grandmother of Anthony, Danielle and Timothy and dear sister of Anna, Luis, Celia, Adria, Pablo and the late Rafaela, Ricardo, Iris, Theresa and Belen. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Services were offered on Monday, May 21, at Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth, followed by cremation at All Souls Crematory, East Elmhurst. The entombment of cremated remains will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery, East Elmhurst.

KATHLEEN HERMAN of Maspeth died on Friday, May 11, at the age of 71. A native of Queens, she was the dear friend of Marlene Laino. Services were offered at Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood, followed by cremation at Fresh Pond Crematory, Middle Village.

BARBARA ANN LUKAN of Staten Island died on Wednesday, May 16, at the age of 66. A native of Brooklyn, she was the beloved wife of Alfred Lukan, devoted mother of Christina Marchione, Daniel Lukan and Elizabeth Alvarado and dear sister of Thomas Kirchner, Margaret Fico and Patricia Higgins. She is also survived by five grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Matthias Church, Ridgewood, followed by interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Maspeth, under the direction of Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood.

SALVATORE W. D’ANGELO of Ridgewood died on Tuesday, May 15, at the age of 83. A native of New York, he was the devoted father of Frank D’Angelo, Dominick D’Angelo, Salvatore D’Angelo and Anna Horowitz and dear brother of Santo D’Angelo. He is also survived by nine grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Ridgewood, followed by interment at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood.

ROBIN BETH FRIEDMAN of New York died on Wednesday, May 16, at the age of 61. She was a native of Baltimore, Md. Services were offered at Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood, followed by cremation at Fresh Pond Crematory, Middle Village.

KENNETH FISHER of Maspeth died on Sunday, May 20, at the age of 57. A native of Brooklyn, he was the dear brother of George Fisher, Edward Fisher, Thomas Fischer, Kathleen Rivera and Charlene Rios. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Services were offered at Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood, by Rev. Dr. Philip Hardt, followed by cremation at Fresh Pond Crematory, Middle Village.
