Firefighters rushed to put out a one-alarm blaze inside a vacant Ridgewood storefront early last Friday morning, June 29, it was reported. According to FDNY sources, the fire ignited at around 12:10 a.m. at the corner of Fresh Pond Road and Woodbine Street. Responding to the scene (in the order of their arrival) were members of Engine companies 291, 286, 277 and 271; Ladder companies 140, 135 and 112; Squad Co. 288; Rescue 4 and Battalions 28 and 37-under the direction of Division 14-along with the 104th Precinct and EMS units. There were no reported injuries.
