Woodside’s St. Sebastian’s Parish Center was the site of a sleepover last weekend for about 200 members of the Sunnyside/Woodside Girl Scouts and their sister troop from Howard Beach. As shown, City Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer was the guest speaker at the event, and he answered questions from the scouts about community service. The troops-many of which are based in Sunnyside, Woodside, Astoria, Jackson Heights, Elmhurst and Corona-presented the lawmaker with a t-shirt featuring the Sunnyside/Woodside Girl Scouts’ logo. Van Bramer is pictured with local mothers, Troop Leaders Meredith Maskara, Jenn McGowan, Jennifer MacKay, Mary Egan, Mary McKnight, Kelly Quinn, Malibika Das, Luan Suarez and Chrystal Salas and members of Girl Scouts Troops 4074, 4198, 4208, 4222, 4247, 4266, 4269, 4275, 4283, 4289, 4545, 4547, 4579 and 4581.
