An underground fault caused more than 1,500 customers in the Bellerose/Floral Park area to lose power around 2 p.m. Tuesday, according to Con Edison.
The power utility said 1,576 customers between approximately East Williston Ave. in the north and Jamaica Avenue in the south, and between 239th Street in the west and 262nd street in the east lost power Tuesday afternoon.
By 5 p.m., about 100 were waiting to have their power restored, which Con Ed expected to happen between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.
