Crews will be filming the following day, the signs read.

The show was created by Lena Dunham, who also stars in the show, with help from filmmakers Judd Apatow and Jenni Jonner as executive producers. “Girls” has collected several awards and honors since debuting in April, 2012, and it was renewed for a third season in January.

FX television series “The Americans” also filmed along Bell Boulevard and at the Bayside Long Island Rail Road station earlier this year. Also in Douglaston, “The Carrie Diaries,” prequel to “Sex and the City,” filmed on the streets behind PS 98 along 41st Avenue.
