Honor Transit Cops at 108th Coun. Meet

For their efforts to collar a cell phone bandit at a 7 train station in Sunnyside, two members of NYPD Transit District 20 were honored during the 108th Precinct Community Council meeting last Tuesday night, May 28, at Sunnyside Community Services. As shown, P.O. Dariusz Dawidowski (center) received the Cop of the Month Award while Sgt. Spiridon Katehis (second from right) was presented with the Transit District 20 Commanding Officer’s Award. Participating in the award presentation were Capt. Brian Hennessy (at right), 108th Precinct commanding officer, and Capt. Michael Telfer (second from left), commander of Transit District 20. Shown at far left is James Ballek, grandson of 108th Precinct Community Council President Diane Ballek (not pictured).
