Two candidates are competing in the election for the City Council District 32 seat, which represents Ozone Park, Howard Beach, Woodhaven and the Rockaways.
Lew Simon
Lew Simon, a former private school teacher and the founder of the Good Government Regular Democratic Club, has served as district leader in the 23rd Assembly District for 20 years. He was born and raised in Rockaway Park.
Eric Ulrich
Eric Ulrich was first elected to the City Council in a 2009 special election. He was then re-elected in November of that year. The Ozone Park native serves as the minority whip of the Republican delegation in the Council.
