People in Astoria might think The Walking Dead is filming at Kaufman Astoria Studios Saturday because the Cultural Campus will be overrun by zombies. The third-annual Queens Thanksgiving Zombie Walk gets underway at Applebee’s, at 38-01 35th Ave around 2:30 p.m.
“Last year they had over 200 take part,” Applebee’s manager Eric Borum said. “They start here with makeup and drink specials, then they’ll wander the streets for a mile or so.”
Five bands, including Another Dead Clown, are booked for an after-party at Hells Gate Tiki, at 12-21 Astoria Blvd., that is slated to start at 6:30 p.m. There will be drink specials, giveaways and a $100 prize for the best costume, according to the blog Zombies Can’t Love.
