St. Patrick’s Day and Irish heritage were celebrated in grand style at the “St. Pat’s For All” Parade through Sunnyside and Woodside on Sunday afternoon, Mar. 2. As shown in the top photo, Mayor Bill de Blasio led a contingent of federal, state and city elected officials on hand for the march, which is the only St. Patrick’s Day parade in the city to allow lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) groups to participate. Former State Sen. Thomas Duane and activist Terry McGovern served as the parade’s grand marshals. Along with a host of civic groups and community organizations, the parade featured performances by bagpipers and Irish jiggers. For more photos, see Page 34.
