Muggers Push Senior to Ground In H. Beach

Two suspects are wanted by the NYPD in connection with the mugging of a 73-year-old woman in Howard Beach Last Tuesday, May 27, police reported.

According to law enforcement sources, the incident occurred at around 3:20 p.m., in the vicinity of 153rd Avenue and 88th Street last Tuesday, May 27. The suspects reportedly stole $100 and a cell phone from the victim during the mugging.

As the victim was walking on the sidewalk with a cart full of groceries, authorities said, a female suspect approached her from behind and grabbed her pocketbook, which contained cash and a cell phone.

Reportedly, a male suspect then punched the victim in the face, causing her to fall to the ground.

The victim suffered cuts to her ear and bruises to her arm. She was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and treated for minor injuries, officials said.

One suspect is described as a black female, approximately 18- years-old with a thin build, last seen wearing a vest; the other, a black male, thin build, approximately 18-years-old was last seen wearing dark clothing and tan cargo shorts, police reported.
