Woodside Assault Victim Dies, Police Treat Case as Homicide

The 56-year-old man who was brutally assaulted in Woodside early Saturday morning has died and the police are now treating the case as a homicide, according to a city official.

Robert Martires was punched in the face by an unknown person in front of 69-04 Roosevelt Avenue at about 12:10 am Saturday. The victim was taken to Elmhurst General Hospital in critical condition at the time.

The police are looking to question a male, Hispanic, in his twenties with facial hair. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and dark colored baseball cap.
