J & M Trains To Skip Wmbg. Stops

Jamaica Center-bound J trains and Middle Village-bound M trains will skip the Hewes Street, Lorimer Street and Flushing Avenue stations on Thursday, Oct. 16, and Friday, Oct. 17, from 9:45 a.m. until 3 p.m.

For service to these stations, take the J or M train to Myrtle Avenue, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound J or M train. For service from these stations, take the J or M train to Marcy Avenue (Unlimited MetroCard holders only) or Essex Street, then transfer to a Jamaica Centerbound J train or a Middle Village-bound M train.

More Disruptions Affect The 7 Line

Service on the 7 line will be suspended between Queensboro Plaza and Times Square-42nd Street this weekend, from 2 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, until 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 20; and from 11:45 p.m. Monday until 5 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21.

This weekend, 7 trains will operate between Queensboro Plaza and Main Street, but with delayed service on Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. During this period, alternate Queensboro Plaza-bound 7 trains will make their last stop at 74th Street, and service between 74th Street and Queensboro Plaza will operate every 12 minutes.

As alternate service, the Q train will be extended to the Ditmars Boulevard station on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

For service between Queens and Manhattan, transfer to the N or Q train at Times Square-42nd Street or Queensboro Plaza or the E, F or R trains at 74th Street.

Free shuttle buses, meanwhile, will replace 7 train service in Long Island City between Queensboro Plaza and Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue. These buses will additionally stop at Queens Plaza for ADA-access to the E or R trains.

The shuttle buses will stop as follows:

– Queensboro Plaza-on Queens Plaza South at 27th Street;

– Queens Plaza-on 42nd Road at Jackson Avenue;

– Court Square-23rd Street- on Jackson Avenue at 45th Avenue (to Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue) or at Thomson Avenue (to Queensboro Plaza);

– Hunters Point Avenue-on 21st Street at 49th Avenue; and

– Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue-on Vernon Boulevard at 50th Avenue.

Additionally, Flushing-bound 7 trains will skip the 33rd Street, 40th Street, 46th Street, 52nd Street and 69th Street stations on weekdays, Wednesday through Friday, from 10:15 a.m. until 3 p.m. through Friday, Nov. 7.

For service to these stations, take the 7 train to Woodside-61st Street or 74th Street, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound 7 train. For service from these stations, take the 7 train to Woodside-61st Street or Queensboro Plaza, then transfer to a Flushing-bound 7 train.

Weekend Changes For E & F In Qns.

Manhattan-bound F trains will run on the M line between Roosevelt Avenue and 47th-50th Streets this weekend, from 11:15 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, until 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 20. These trains will, however, run express between Roosevelt Avenue and Queens Plaza.

As a result of this change, Manhattan/Brooklyn-bound F train service will not be available at the 21st Street-Queensbridge, Roosevelt Island, Lexington Avenue-63rd Street and 57th Street stations.

For service to 21st Street- Queensbridge or Roosevelt Island, take the F train to 47th-50th Streets, then transfer to a Jamaicabound F train. For service from these stations, take the F train to Roosevelt Avenue, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound F train.

Split Service Hits L Line Weekdays

L trains will operate in two sections-between Broadway Junction and Rockaway Parkway and between Broadway Junction and Eighth Avenue-weekdays, Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday, Oct. 24. Riders can transfer between L trains at Broadway Junction to continue their trip .

It was noted that L trains running between Broadway Junction and Rockaway Parkway will operate every 24 minutes. Riders are advised to allow for additional travel time.

Switch Of Lines For E Trains To Jamaica

Jamaica Center-bound E trains will run on the F line between West Fourth Street and 21st Street- Queensbridge late nights, Monday through Friday, from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Friday, Oct. 24. Service will operate normally between 9:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, and 5 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21.

During this period, Jamaica Center-bound E trains will not stop at the Seventh Avenue, Fifth Avenue-53rd Street, Lexington Avenue-53rd Street, Court Square- 23rd Street and Queens Plaza stations. E trains will resume normal service following 21st Street-Queensbridge.

Transfer to a free shuttle bus at 21st Street-Queensbridge for service to and from Court Square- 23rd and Queens Plaza.

Skip Three Stops On E & F Lines

Manhattan-bound E and F trains will skip the Van Wyck Boulevard and 75th Avenue stations late nights on Tuesday, Oct. 21, through Friday, Oct. 24, from 9:45 p.m. until 5 a.m. During this period, Manhattanbound F trains will also skip the Sutphin Boulevard station.

For service to these stations, take the E or F train to Union Turnpike or 71st-Continental Avenue, then transfer to a Jamaica Center-bound E train or a Jamaica-bound F train. For service from these stations, take the E train to Union Turnpike or Jamaica-Van Wyck, or the F train to Union Turnpike or Parsons Boulevard, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound E or F train.

Late Night Express On E And R Lines

Manhattan-bound E trains will run express service between 71st- Continental Avenues and Roosevelt Avenue late nights on Tuesday, Oct. 21, through Friday, Oct. 24, from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m.

Additionally, Manhattan-bound R trains will also run express service in the same section on Tuesday through Thursday from 9:45 to 11 p.m .

For service to the 67th Avenue, 63rd Drive, Woodhaven Boulevard, Grand Avenue and Elmhurst Avenue stations, take the E or R train to Roosevelt Avenue, then transfer to a Jamaica Center-bound E train or a Forest Hills-bound R train. For service from these stations, take the E or R train to 71st-Continental Avenues, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound E or R train.

Station Renewal Affects A Train

The Manhattan-bound platforms at the 88th Street and 104th Street A train stations in Ozone Park closed on Monday, Oct. 13, and will remain shut through January 2015 for repairs.

For service to these stations, take the A train to 80th Street, then transfer to an Ozone Park-bound or a Far Rockaway-bound A train. For service from these stations, take the A train to Rockaway Boulevard or 111th Street, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound A train.
