About 55 to 60 police officers from the NYPD’s 102nd Precinct were able to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal on Nov. 24, courtesy of the One Stop Richmond Hill Community Center.

The event, held at the 102nd Precinct located at 87-34 118th St., was sponsored by the 102nd Precinct Community Council, Senator Joseph Addabbo Jr. and Councilwomen Joann Ariola and Lynn Schulman. The officers were treated to a nice traditional Thanksgiving dinner that included a turkey, rice, sweet potatoes, fruits and desserts.

Simcha Waisman, president of the 102nd Precinct Community Council, started the annual Thanksgiving event 36 years ago to thank the police officers for all of the hard work they do year round, he said.

“Giving back to the precinct and the officers is a must for all of the hard work they’re doing and make them feel very good. Everyone had a smile on their faces,” Waisman said.
