Astoria man charged with murder: NYPD

By Madina Toure

An 18-year-old man was arrested and charged in the murder of another man in his Astoria home, the NYPD said.

Quentin Capobianco, 18, faces charges of murder and criminal possession of a weapon in the killing of Jesse Smith, 29, who lived at the same address, police said. The officers who took the report believe the two men were roommates, but that had not yet been confirmed, a spokesman for the NYPD said.

Police responded to a call of an argument inside the home Monday at about 3:29 p.m. Officers found the victim, who lived near 26th Avenue and 21st Street, with severe head trauma, authorities said. Smith was taken to Elmhurst General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation was ongoing, the spokesman said.
