One fact has not been mentioned and that is New York City is being considered as a possible location for the 2016 Democratic National Convention.
Since the vote has been reported to be close, it is possible that a ban on carriage rides, which thousands of visitors take every year, may tip the vote away from New York City since thousands of tourists, including delegates, would be visiting our city for the convention. Many of those visitors may partake in this popular tourist attraction.
The mayor may be doing more damage than he realizes.
