BAYSIDE — A woman was mugged by an unidentified man on Saturday, March 7, while she was cleaning snow from atop her car on 228th Street and 64th Avenue police said.
The male suspect stepped out of a white sedan while the woman was distracted and removed a Coach purse from the driver’s seat of her car without displaying a weapon; he then stepped back into his car and fled northbound on 228th Street, according to police.
Contained within the purse were invaluables, over $1,300 in cash, credit cards and a cell phone, according to the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.
Police said the victim described the suspect as a black man in his early 20s, roughly 5-feet-9inches tall. No arrests were made, though the police investigation is ongoing.
