Police precincts across the borough are gearing up for the annual National Night Out Against Crime, which takes place Tuesday, Aug. 4, at various locations around Queens.
103rd Precinct, Jamaica
The 103rd Precinct’s celebration will take place at Rufus King Park, Jamaica Avenue between 150th and 153rd streets, from 5:30-9:30 p.m.
105th Precinct, Queens Village
The 105th Precinct’s celebration will take place at Cabbell Park, Francis Lewis Boulevard and 121st Avenue, from 5-9 p.m.
107th Precinct, Fresh Meadows
The 107th Precinct’s celebration will take place at the Electchester Shopping Center at 70-63 Parsons Blvd. in Fresh Meadows from 7-9:30 p.m. The event will consist of a barbecue, inflatables for children, informational tables and a blood drive hosted by New York Hospital Queens. State Sen. Toby Stavisky and Assemblyman Michael Simanowitz will also present. The precinct will give out community service awards to Detective Kevin Granger and Simanowitz.
108th Precinct, Woodside
The 108th Precinct’s celebration will take place at Windmuller Park, located from 52nd to 54th streets off of Woodside Avenue from 5-8 p.m. with entertainment, free food from area restaurants, children’s rides and a bouncy house.
109th Precinct, Flushing
The 109th Precinct’s celebration will take place at PS 20 at 142-30 Barclay Ave. in Flushing from 5-9 p.m. The celebration will consist of food, drinks, a DJ, face painting, carnival games, pony rides and clowns. The precinct will also provide information about crime prevention, domestic violence and health care.
110th Precinct, Corona
The 110th Precinct’s celebration will take place at Flushing Meadows Corona Park from 5-8 p.m. near the Carousel. Activities will include crime prevention, domestic violence prevention, child safety, highway safety, bike and transit safety. There will be a softball game between the precinct and the Queens Center mall. There is a free petting zoo, free carousel rides, inflatable rides, clown and face painting plus BBQ, hot dogs and Lemon King Italian Ices.
111th Precinct, Bayside
The 111th Precinct’s celebration will take place at the Fairway Market, 242-02 61 Ave., in Douglaston, from 6-9 p.m. Officers will host public information booths about crime prevention, domestic violence and other crime-related information in partnership with several community organizations and businesses. Public affairs officers at the precinct said local businesses will be holding a raffle with the help of the Little Neck-Douglaston Lions Club and giving away food and merchandise as prizes. Other family-friendly activities will include a clown, balloon show, DJ, New York Mets ticket giveaways and T-shirt giveaways.
113th Precinct, Jamaica
The 113th Precinct’s celebration will take place at Baisley Pond Park, 155th Street and Baisley Boulevard, from 6-9 p.m.
114th Precinct, Astoria
The 114th Precinct’s celebration will take place on the Great Lawn in Astoria Park, from 5-8 p.m. Activities will include a dunk tank, pony rides and a bicycle engraving station.
115th Precinct, Jackson Heights
The 115th Precinct’s celebration will take place at NNO at Northern Playground between 93rd and 94th streets off Northern Boulevard from 5-8 p.m.
