Police are looking for two suspects they say tried to steal from two men in Long Island City early Sunday morning before shooting one of the victims.
Authorities said the two victims were approached by the suspects — described as black men between 19 to 25 years old — near 13-05 43rd Ave. at about 6:20 a.m. on Oct. 25.
The suspects tried to take the 29-year-old victim’s gold chain and during the struggle one of the suspects took out a firearm and shot the man in the abdomen and thigh, police said. A shot was also fired in the direction of the second victim, a 26-year-old man, but missed.
Officers from the 108th Precinct and EMS units responded to the incident. The first victim was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
Police have released surveillance video in hopes of identifying and locating the suspects.
