Donate with the one you love this Valentine’s Day.
State Senator Joseph Addabbo is once again teaming up with Sacred Heart Church in Glendale to host a Valentine’s Day food drive to collect donations for the parish’s food bank.
After a successful holiday food drive that gathered food which allowed dozens of families to have Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, Addabbo and Sacred Heart are encouraging the public to donate nonperishable items to continue helping those in need.
“The recent holiday food drive organized by Sacred Heart and my office was a huge success, but it’s important to remember that the need for food does not disappear after the holiday season,” Addabbo said. “There is always someone who can benefit from a simple act of kindness, such as donating a can of food. The items collected in this food drive will go a long way toward helping families and children who might not otherwise have dinner on the table. I urge all of us to pay it forward and help out whenever possible, and thank those who continue to support this food drive and others.”
The church will be accepting canned goods, boxed goods, rice, soup and pasta as well as toiletries and paper products such as napkins and plates. Donations will be accepted from Monday, Jan. 25, until Friday, Feb. 12.
As with the previous food drives, the senator has once again opened up his Middle Village office, located at 66-85 73rd Pl., as a drop-off location to make it easier for those who wish to donate. Donations can also be dropped off at Sacred Heart Church, located at 83-17 78th Ave.
