Police arrested a 29-year-old man on Monday morning in connection with two attempted sexual assaults in Jackson Heights earlier this month.

Luis Ramon Bencosme, 29, of 93rd Street was charged with the failed groping of a 17-year-old girl in the area of 35th Avenue and 92nd Street at 8:05 p.m. on Feb. 17. According to authorities, Bencosme went to touch the victim’s buttocks, but she fled before he could get his hands on her.

Then at 2:50 p.m. on Feb. 23, police said, Bencosme allegedly groped a 10-year-old girl’s buttocks in the area of 37th Avenue and 99th Street.

Security camera footage that police released last week showed the man later identified as Bencosme partially hiding his face with his hand.

Following an investigation by the NYPD Queens Special Victims Squad, Bencosme was charged Monday with sex abuse, attempted forcible touching and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
