Raise your pint glasses and say cheers! The third annual Queens Beer Week is right around the corner.
Queens Beer Week is a 10-day celebration of all things beer from the “World’s Borough” that stretches across more than 70 venues, with special events including tap takeovers, brewery tours and special releases.
Though it officially starts on Friday, May 13, things will really be hopping the next day, May 14, with a special “Queens Beer Week Kick-Off Party” at LIC Landing, with the help of Hunters Point Parks South Conservancy and the people at Coffeed. All Queens brewers will be at the kick-off party, pouring their newest creations as well as some special collaborations brewed just for Queens Beer Week.
“Queens Beer Week really focuses on driving people to come enjoy the Queens breweries,” said Dan Bronson, organizer for Queens Beer Week. “Friday is usually a busy restaurant night away, so we wanted to make sure that there were no Queens Beer Week events on that busy night, so we made the kick-off party on Saturday.”
All of the breweries that produce in Queens will be participating in this year’s Queens Beer Week include Big Alice Brewing from Long Island City, Finback Brewery in Glendale, Descendant Cider Co. from Maspeth, Bridge and Tunnel Brewery in Ridgewood and Rockaway Brewing Company from Long Island City.
Queens Beer Week is a 100 percent nonprofit, volunteer collaboration of bars, breweries, home brewers and community leaders, aimed at celebrating the great beer of Queens, and the vibrant social scene surrounding it.
Tickets and a full list of events will be available starting on May 1, and all proceeds will go to benefit the parks.
