Dead woman found in Pomonok a murder victim: Cops

The death of a 61-year-old woman at Pomonock Houses last week is being called a murder by police.

A 61-year-old woman was found dead in her Pomonok apartment Aug. 1, according to the NYPD.

Police responded to a call of a possible dead person and discovered the body of Huizen Zhan at approximately 7:15 p.m., the NYPD said. Zhan’s body was found inside her basement apartment at 158-10 65th Ave., police said. When officers found her, she was lying face up on a bed unconscious and unresponsive, according to police.

The cause of death has been deemed a homicide, police said. Zhan’s husband has been questioned in connection to her death, police said.

The investigation was ongoing.
