More construction is coming to heart of 30th Avenue.

Building owner Haralabos Kartsagkoulis filed an application to build a three story, mixed use building at 32-12 30th Avenue where a fruit market is currently located.

The building will be three stories tall, plus a basement, and will measure 5,586 square feet. It will contain two apartments, as well as a commercial storefront area. According to the application, the commercial area will measure 2,358 square feet, and the residential section will measure 3,227 square feet, or about 1,614 square feet per unit.

The existing building on the 2,500 square foot lot houses the Elliniki Agora Fruit and Vegetable Market, and it is unclear whether that business will be able to return once the new building is complete.

However, no demolition permits have been filed as of yet, and the timeframe for the project remains unclear.

Topos Designs Inc., a Woodside based firm, will design the new building.

The design firm did not return request for comment by the time of publication.
