Search continues for an armed bandit who swiped cash from an Astoria grocery store

Police are looking for a man who robbed a grocery store in Astoria at gunpoint last month and got away with a couple hundred dollars in cash.

On Nov. 28 at about 2:20 p.m., the suspect entered AB News and Grocery at 23-14 Broadway. He approached the 64-year-old employee, took out a hand gun and demanded money. The employee gave him $450 in cash and the suspect fled the store.

The individual is described as a male standing approximately 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds; he was last seen wearing a black knit cap, a black coat, blue sweatpants and a black shoulder bag.
