March 15, 2017 Staff Report

A loud snowblower sent a Rego Park man into a fit of rage Tuesday, leading him to punch and stab his neighbor, according to police.

The victim, 46-year-old Ryan Chin, was snow blowing his driveway in the vicinity of Alderton Street and Yellowstone Blvd at around 4 pm when his 34-year-old neighbor approached him from behind and punched him in the head and then stabbed him with a sharp object in the buttocks, chest and head, police said.

Chin was transported to Elmhurst Hospital in critical but stable condition.

The attacker — described as 5 feet 10 inches tall and 250 pounds —fled the scene before police arrived.

The investigation is ongoing.
