A woman died this morning after spending last night in Queens Central Booking in Kew Gardens.
According to police, the 56-year-old woman had been taken in to police custody last night due to several outstanding warrants for her arrest. She spent the night in central booking at 125-01 Queens Boulevard, and was found unconscious and unresponsive at 8:05 a.m. this morning.
Emergency medical services responded and transported the woman to Jamaica Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
A police spokesperson said that the cause of her death was unknown, but that the medical examiner would conduct an investigation. The New York City Police Department Force Investigation Division is also investigating the incident.
