Cops are looking for two gunmen in sunglasses who held up an auto body shop in South Ozone Park on Saturday afternoon.
Law enforcement sources said the stickup took place at 1:15 p.m. on May 13 at the Ozone Auto Body garage located at 125-07 Rockaway Blvd., off 125th Street.
According to police, the two suspects walked into the garage and displayed silver firearms as they confronted the shop’s owner and four employees. The crooks demanded the payroll money, then forced the five victims to the ground.
Seconds later, authorities said, the perpetrators removed money and other personal property from the victims, then fled the location foot eastbound on Rockaway Boulevard and then southbound on 126th Street. There, police noted, the suspects were observed entering a white SUV — believed to be a Dodge Nitro — that sped away.
Officers from the 106th Precinct responded to the robbery; none of the victims were injured.
Police described the suspects as black males in their 30s standing 5 foot 10 inches tall and wearing sunglasses. One of the bandits wore a black hooded sweatshirt, a black jacket, blue jeans and black sneakers, while his cohort wore a red hooded sweatshirt, a black jacket, black pants and black-and-white sneakers.
Anyone with information regarding the suspects’ whereabouts is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS, visit their website or send a text message to 274637 (CRIMES), then enter TIP577. All calls and messages are kept confidential.
