UPDATED MONDAY, MAY 8, 12 P.M.
Parking restrictions will remain a headache for Middle Village residents this week as the NYC Department of Design and Construction (DDC) continues work on the Penelope Avenue sewer project.
Beginning on or about Monday, May 8, through Friday, May 12, DDC will again need to temporarily eliminate curbside parking and restrict driveway access, this time along Juniper Valley Road between 75th Place and Gray Street for the installation of 30-inch sewer pipes.
Vehicles in the area must be removed from driveways before 7 a.m. on May 8, DDC said.
It may become necessary for DDC to modify some scheduled work locations and operations due to any unforeseen conditions from the weather, field conditions or other circumstances.
In all instances, during the time of construction, only emergency vehicles will have full access to the streets. Pedestrian access at the locations will be maintained at all times. DDC will also monitor their operations and work within the DEP Noise Code regulations.
Full access to driveways and street parking will be returned when construction is completed on each block. Signs will be posted in the affected areas.
If you have any questions or concerns, or want to learn more about the project, call the project’s Community Construction Liaison Lisbeth Lora, at 718-326-3840 or 917-715-0536, email her at penelopeaveccl[@]gmail.com or visit the NYC DDC website at www.nyc.gov/ddc.
