Cheese of the World, which was listed for sale on the Multiple Listing Service of Long Island last week, is no longer for sale.
The owner has reconsidered selling after dozens of residents flooded the shop over the weekend worried that it might be closing.
“The shop had to close early on Saturday because there were simply too many people for them to handle,” one source said.
Although screenshots reveal that the listing was in fact published on MLS servers, the listing was removed over the weekend.
Cheese of the World has been open on the well known strip of Forest Hills for over 65 years, and carries over a hundred types of cheeses, cured meats and other gourmet items.
