A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car while crossing Yellowstone Boulevard in the early hours this morning, police said.
Arkadiy Dibin, 29, who lived on Alderton Street, was hit by a 2005 Buick Lacrosse in front of 73-12 Yellowstone Blvd at around 12:30 am today.
Police found Dibin on the roadway, unconscious and bleeding heavily from the head and mouth. EMS transported him to North Shore Forest Hills Hospital in critical condition. He was subsequently transported to North Shore Manhasset Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Dibin was attempting to run across Yellowstone Boulevard mid-block when he was struck by the Buick sedan that was traveling northbound on Yellowstone Boulevard. The 66-year-old driver remained on the scene. The investigation is ongoing by the NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad.
