An annual afternoon of family-friendly fun is coming to Bayside this Sunday.
On Sept. 24, Bell Boulevard between 39th and 41st Avenues will be closed to traffic to allow for a stress-free stroll down the bustling business corridor.
At the free annual “Sunday Stroll” organized by the Bayside Village Business Improvement District (Bayside BID), participants can experience a full afternoon of food, activities and live performances and interact with local businesses in a fun setting.
Attendees should come hungry, as the corridor’s diverse selection of restaurants will offer a combination of free tastings, discount offers and special menus. Outdoor seating will also be available.
Live performances from Gracie Terzian and local bands Chicken Head Rocks, Landing Approach, Stu Pender and Poetic Thrust will take place throughout the day. Students from Bayside’s Robert Mann Dance Centre will also put on a show for attendees.
Families with children can enjoy a number of activities, including a Superhero Story Time presented by Bell Boulevard’s Turn the Page Again at noon and a giant bubbles show put on by spirited Bubbledad.
Uni + HYPOTHEkids will set up a portable reading room and science lab onsite, allowing curious young minds to discover new books and use microscopes and magnifying glasses to explore their environment.
An art station by Bayside Paint Place, carnival games, bouncy house and other interactive activities will also be available.
